Meet Art Director Crystal Deroche
Ifedolapo Onikoyi aka “Crystal” is the founder of the Crystal Deroche Agency. She studied at Greenwich University and earned her degree in business administration and her MBA. After that, she worked for 4 years with TNS a worldwide market research company, as their International Communication Manager, she needed a change and was looking for a new challenge, so she started her agency.
Over the last 12 years, she has worked in the fashion and art industry as an art director and curator of fashion. At the beginning of her career fashion styling allowed her to express her creativity, she rapidly evolved into concept development as a Junior Art Director for editorials, which, paired with her fashion styling skills helped her produce at an early-stage high quality work. Working alongside photographers such as Charl Marais, Frederic Monceau, Mudita Aeron, Ludovic Duartchi, Yoshi Saiki, Jide Alakija, Reze Bonna, Ade Okelarin “Asiko”, was a turning point allowing her to establish herself as an Art Director.
She also organizes exhibits and various events in the fashion and art industry to meet the needs of designers to showcase their talents. One of Crystal’s favorite projects was to develop and organize an installation based on the idea of Afrofusion. The exhibition explored the concept of merging Africa’s heritage with the rest of the world.
